Facilitar esse entendimento \u00e9 um objetivo fundamental da educa\u00e7\u00e3o de adultos. Este artigo tem a sua origem num estudo de caso, em curso, sobre a integra\u00e7\u00e3o dos estudantes &#8220;Maiores de 23&#8221; no ensino superior. A integra\u00e7\u00e3o plena no ensino superior exige que os estudantes consigam compreender e valorizar as suas experi\u00eancias de vida e que encontrem formas de as integrar nas aprendizagens formais. O material emp\u00edrico que serviu de apoio a este estudo foi obtido atrav\u00e9s de entrevistas semiestruturadas e <em>focus group<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Palavras-chave:<\/strong> Educa\u00e7\u00e3o de adultos, Aprendizagem ao Longo da Vida, Integra\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The need to understanding the meaning of life experiences is a condition of being human and, according to Mezirow (1997), the goal of adult education is to facilitate that understanding. This paper is based on an on-going study case focused on the integration of undergraduate students who were older than 23 years when they enrolled in higher education. The data used was collected from semi-structured interviews and <em>focus group<\/em> discussions.
